Hi Sound Mind Seekers!!!!
I thought I would kick this minimalism series off with a post about decluttering. By this time, I hope you have learned how to become a decluttering pro by using my handy dandy guide on “How To Let Things Go.” If you have not read it yet, click one of the links below or to the right to download it for free!!
Now that you have learned HOW to declutter, let’s discuss WHY you need to declutter.
- You will able to restock necessities easily.
For example, ridding your pantry of old and expired items will allow you to get an accurate idea of where you need to restock. It will also make room for what you truly need.
- You will be able to find what you need quickly.
One of my biggest pet peeves is pilfering through the infamous kitchen junk drawer and not being able to find what i need. Get rid of those dry pens and water-stained sticky notes!
- You will not have to move dead weight.
My husband and I first decided to adopt a minimalist way of living when we were preparing to move from our apartment to our house. We decided that moving should be as easy as possible, so we purged our apartment of every item that we felt was obsolete, unused, or unneeded. Our load was so light, and we did not have to use our garage to store a surplus of boxes or items.
- You will not have to constantly fight with clutter on a day-to-day basis.
This one is simple: the less you own, the less you have to clean up!
I hope this post encourages you to continue to let things go! Make sure to check out the next posts!
Live sound mindfully,
