“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love, and of a SOUND MIND.”

~2 Timothy 1:7

SoundMind was literally birthed out of this scripture. For as long as I can remember, my space has always been reflective of my mental state. For instance, when I was in grade school and living with my parents and two younger sisters, they always knew something was wrong with me if my bed was not made up. My m.o. was to always be tidy and clean, so it was not normal for me to have a junky room. I often attribute this quality to my introverted nature. Clutter drains my energy just as crowds of people do. Having a space to retreat to and call my own was a necessity, even as a child growing up.

It was around that time in my life when I would go on these crazy cleaning frenzies in my parents’ house, and I would do things like take all of the medicine out of the medicine cabinet to throw out old and expired bottles and prescriptions. I became obsessed with organizing, and became the unofficial organizer amongst my family and friends. I would even help my peers take proper notes!

Fast forward to today, I came to realize why a peaceful, organized space is necessary. From a young age, God instilled in me the desire to create clean, organized spaces for myself and others. Anything that causes unnecessary stress is not of God for he has given us the ability to have a sound mind. I definitely instill those values into every space that I take on!
